Clinic with Trudi

Postby Chevalblanc » Mon Mar 27, 2017 6:17 am

We had a lovely day with Trudi yesterday. The sun came out and everything :sun:

We had a nice relaxed day with a mix of ridden and in hand work. Sky is hopping lame (abscess brewing I think) so G stepped up and did extra sessions. We only had one extra horse, a very sweet little mare who reminded me of Sky, who had had a tense and unhappy time at the last clinic she went to, but we could all see a change in her during her two sessions today. Lots of releases and a major rolling session - reminded me of the mustang from the WS video......

Vince, our archer learning to ride, had a lesson in how to get your horse to move exactly when you want him to (and the old boy made him work for it!)

Nicola had a ridden lesson, G sporting his new transcend bridle

And Wren, another archer, put Tari through her paces (although we only did one session with mademoiselle as she is also a bit lame, but nowhere near as bad as Sky - the local hunt went through the woods last week and I think some hooleying went on when the field was slippery  )

Lydia came too and she and Ali are twins!!

We even got her on a horse

General consensus that we need to do this again. Maybe in the summer?

Thanks for hosting and feeding us Helen- love the photos  a really enjoyable day. Tari is such a gorgeous girl and G, well, as always, he was amazing- such a shame about Sky- we'll have to pop up for an afternoon so Ali can get a session in when Sky's better.
Eowyn made a scrummy birthday cake for Nicola and it was just so nice to see Ali and Lydia together again AND to see Lydia on a horse and shooting!

It was a brilliant day (and a most excellent cake too, thanks Éowyn). Lots to take away and work on, and I'm most definitely up for another one!
