I'm all for a bit of core strength  It helps so much in just daily life, let alone in doing other sports such as riding. A lot of us can't even support our own bodies properly when sitting or standing, so we fatigue so easily when we try to do anything more strenuous, not to mention risking injury. I'm guilty of slumping on chairs, hunching my shoulders and lolloping on sofas but I'm really trying to address it by thinking about my posture and doing yoga/Pilates/weights.

Ooops, pressed reply before I added the bit about the horses! I had never thought specifically about training a horse's core as such but it makes complete and utter sense.

Interesting article  I've started to going to a yoga class, mainly for the relaxation and alleviating stiffness/balancing both sides, and as a prelim to improving core strength assuming I can get abck into shape once better weather arrives, ditto for the horses, so would appreciate any more links and info for human exercises.
