So here we are, first report on riding lessons here in the UK and so far, so good! The new stables has a load of those nice solid cob types that you just don't get in France, and Ali was riding one tonight, a coloured cob who bore more than a passing resemblance to Chester, although he was of course clipped to within an inch of his life!

Lovely grey Fjord behind him, waaaay too fat though!

So when it came to jumping, he needed to be, erm, well motivated. Which she totally failed to get right on the first go!

But at least she impressed the instructor with her stickability.......

Anyway, she soon got the measure of him :-D

(sorry, haven't worked out how to upload vids from the new phone to YouTube yet)

And it turns out her new best mate at school keeps her pony at the same stables so we had to stay and watch her in the next lesson.

Have signed the SNO up for baby pony club on a Saturday too, should be amusing......lots going on at this place, looks like we're doing a TREC comp next month!

This is all great! Let's hope you've hit the jackpot first time with this club -it's sounding pretty perfect so far. Great that Ali has made a friend already.

Using the stable horses is £30 a head, so no!

It's 4 miles from the livery, we can hack up there in the morning and I've arranged to leave them there overnight as it'll be dark by the time the comp is finished, then I can ride & lead back on the Monday.

Looks like a lovely indoor school and it sounds great that there's lots going on.

Lesson and videos looked good Ali - well done.

First lesson for the SNO today on a cute little pony called Lilly Grey......

Slightly less excruciating than watching her lessons at the place in France, but near-beginner lessons will never be my favourite viewing :? At least Éowyn wasn't using the reins for balance, in fact kept getting told to shorten them as her steering was non existant......but she still managed to do some unauthorised overtaking

The mirrors in the school are a big distraction though! You can see her admiring herself in this vid: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10 ... tif_t=like
