Tally's Progress

Tally's Progress

Postby spottygiraffe » Tue Sep 23, 2014 12:13 pm

Tally had her first proper lesson on Saturday. The club is in the village and it has the best name ever -Hippocampsas (our village is called Campsas). The pones all look on good form and the people who run it are friendly (Caroline & Guillaume).

She had to turn up early to bring the pony in, groom and tack up

This is Amazone:

She was very interested in the acorns on the ground:

There are only 4 in the class, so lots of individual attention. When they had to halt or turn, Guillaume got them to start from the back of the ride first so the pones weren't just following the one in front.

Short hack out to finish too -and then they had to untack, groom and put them back in the field.

First impressions very good :-D

it sounds like a nice club Sarah - so good to get the kids involved right from the start with grooming, tacking up etc

The ponies look to be in nice condition too - and she won't be growing out of Amazone in a hurry will she

My thoughts exactly.... I felt quite emotional because I remember my first lesson so clearly and I was thinking how she will also have a cherished memory of this -if she gets the bug anyway. She certainly loved it on Saturday.

She can't wait for the next lesson

It is hard being a pony club Mum -I just want to interfere or take over when she's trying to tack up etc :)

I was the worst pony club mum ever, I would call out instructions from the spectators area, and interfere with the preparation of not only my childs' pony but everyone else's pony too...
