Working on the steering today, she is still very unsure of all this stuff being asked of someone on her back. You have to give her a couple of seconds' processing time still for most requests. But every time she's getting a bit better :-D

She's pretty good at go and whoa now and will stop from the cordeo alone

(As an aside, Nic has blagged us (Cotteswold Mounted Archers) sponsorship from Transcend Bitless Bridles in the form of a couple of cordeos and a bridle, looking forward to getting hold of them :-D )

Also been working on standing on 3 legs and taking responsibility for holding her weight up properly, rather than leaning on poor old Adam!

Well I might have sold you the Luberon saddle back if I could ever find anything else to fit the Other Fat Pony   They are such great saddles for the round barrelled drafty types. So you are finally on board

So today's hack went something like this:

Me: Come on then Tari

T: OK

T: I've gone around the corner, can I turn back now?

Me: No

T: You sure?

Me: come on let's go.

T: Oh OK then

T: Oh look some grass, let's stop so I can eat it

Me: No, let's keep going

T: How about if I try a little buck to express my displeasure? :buck:

Me: Nice try......

T: Oh alright then, we'll go a bit further. Oh look, some grass.......

And so on.

After the 4th try, and the 4th no she gave up and was actually pretty good :-D

It's nice, although as you can see I'm just using one set of reins for the moment. Don't like leather reins though, too slippery, might have to replace them with my fluorescent orange ones

 Like me, she is somewhat broad of beam. Always makes me laugh when drivers on the single track back lanes don't pull over much and expect her to go past them and still keep their wing mirror.....

She certainly is broad of beam -she is absolutely huge! Looking great, the pair of you. Sounds like you're doing a good job nipping the hack picnics in the bud
