Target Shooting (archery)

In an attempt to improve the bit of horseback archery I'm really bad at  I'm joining Lydia's archery club. It will mean I can have a practice when I take her to the club rather than just hanging about. At the weekend the 'old boys' got to see my beginner's bow and had a chuckle until I told them about doing it from horseback...they were strangely quiet after that! An experienced longbow archer took me under his wing and gave me some tips to avoid my hand flying off the string and amazingly I managed to hit (and score) at 20m (I'm used to about 8m at home) so I think that, in spite of my funny thumb draw, they will welcome me again. About four of them pointed out I was drawing wrong until I explained about the horse bit

 Most target archers know nothing about thumb draw. Good idea to get as much practise on the ground as you can, shooting at longer distances is good practise for the Hungarian track too :-D
