I think it's a human trait  I try not to be and these days, having students from quite diverse backgrounds, I do try to keep an open mind. I do find that newer equestrians or those that have found a new way can be more fundamentalist :-D

I have never before pondered the meaning of the word 'fundamentalist'. It doesn't quite mean exactly what I had thought.

I am terrible for this and I fuel my own beliefs by devouring literature on the subjects I already believe in which further reinforces my ideals. I do try to read outside of my thinking too, but I get all cross and indignant

Exactly. It can be so exciting to find something new and have light bulb moments that it's hard not to want everyone to experience the same epiphany.

I am not trying to be less fundamentalist but I am trying to make my feelings less obvious. I'm not convinced anyone else would think it was working, but I know personally how much effort it takes for me to tone it down and keep a lid on some of it!
