Have been looking for this for a few weeks, I wrote it for my aunt when she lost her horse after twenty years together. I hope you will like it

Your mother was the wind,
Of that Im sure.
She stayed with you your whole life,
I noticed her, she played in your mane, whispered anarchy in your big ears.
Reminded you about
sweeping hills and crazy gallops
when only a trot was my plan.
You scared me sometimes,
But I was secretly thrilled. Yes,
I saved the best part of me for you
The part of me thats brave,
a free spirit, that has beauty in the soul.
Oh to be a mirror of you. Horse.
An early morning ride, just when the mist fairies are needing to sleep,
sunlight, all it took
to fall in love with you again and again.
Of which you were probably blissfully unaware...
Just going along, thinking your horse thoughts,
You gave me your whole life,
Asking for nothing much but my trust,
And to return one day to your mother
Of whom you'd always dreamed.

Lovely, Tess. It's very 'you'. It is the written version of one of your paintings :hurray:

This evening 13/05/15

The field arcs out, baby's hair grass, not quite blond,
and already seeding.
Three horses, only the generous curves of their
May blown flanks, and the softness
Of their unridden backs.
Heads ear deep and still grazing.
The evening breeze delicious, and I watch the
gypsy manes lifting with a kind of yearning,
That turns to heaven stillness.
A meditation of evening horses.
My own prairie land.
