Weekly round up

What a macabre story. The driver was a complete idiot to try to overtake -it is also incredibly disrespectful. I feel quite cross.

Those feet -you're so right Helen! On the first picture of the horse following the accident I could see that they were going to be long and narrow with those tiny shoes but when I scrolled down the better view was worse than I was expecting! Talk about creating an artificially boxy foot. The horses have such high heels that they are actually leaning forwards -look at the shoulders. It's just a car crash (sorry!).

Btw does anyone else find those horse-drawn hearses really sinister? There's no way I'm ever going in one of those! (I'm ignoring the 'over my dead body' possibility  ).

I will never forget the utter silence when everybody heard the horse drawn hearse arrive outside Romsey Abbey for the funeral of a friend of mine - she was a v well known local horse vet and the church was packed - but you literally could have heard a pin drop !!!

I cant believe that anyone would overtake a funeral cortege ...

Unsurprisingly, lots of coverage of the equine death toll at Cheltenham this week.....

This is so sad......as is the reaction of some of the anti-hunt idiots
