This is in the news again, worryingly this time there are reports of horses having feet amputated after injury rather than being put down (don't watch the vids if you're of a sensitive disposition):

:cry: :cry: saw it the other day Helen - appalling, it seems that its ok to ride a horse until it drops dead but if its injured you cant put it down to stop the suffering .... no wonder a lot of people are refusing to sell to the Arabs these days ...

After I read the Epona piece, I checked out that racehorse they were talking about, the stuff they put him through for 8 months after he shattered his leg was awful, all for the chance to keep him going to breed more racehorses :sad:
